Thanksgiving Holiday at the Windy Spur
We had a wonderful dinner. It was fun to be together. No driving to the bus down the dusty dirt road. Yea!! It has been nice to relax. I think that we needed the time off. I am thankful for so many things. I hope that the Lord hears our prayers. I know that he is so important to us. I can't emagine life without Jesus Christ and our Heavenly Father. It would be such a sad life. I am thankful for our schools and the education that they give our children. I am so thankful today. I am especially thankful for our family and friends.

School Busing Problem in Snowflake schools
Well it is the new school year. When we started school in Aug. we found out that our bus stop was erased. I guess at the end of year school board meeting the board and the former superentendant decided that the busses did not need to go off the paved roads. So they cut all of the dirt road bus stops. You may say so what they shouldn't have to drive on private dirt roads. But, they cut the bus stops on public dirt roads. Roads that are either county maintained or city maintained. See we are a rural community and so a lot of the roads inside of Taylor and Snowflake are dirt even though they are in the city limits. The two towns say that they do not have the funds available to pave the roads. So we are at this delema. We lost our bus stop. Now this was not just the bus stop of my children it was the bust stop of over twelve families. So we now have to go to the nearest pave road bus stop. It is over two miles away. The bus just drops our children on the corner of a road two miles away from their homes. So because I don't want my children obducted I go every day three times a day to the bus stop. We used to be able to walk to the bus stop. So now our gas bill has increased because of the problem. Now the district has decided to have late start days so on those days I have to go out to the bus stop 4 times. It is very time consuming. It only adds to the busy life I already have. I feel bad for the children of the working moms and dads. Because they have a very hard time getting to school. I worry about when the winter weather comes. Because It will be 4x4 time 3 times a day. I hope that I can hold up. See if I get sick I still have to take my children to the bus stop and what if something should happen to me and I can't pick them up. They still drop them at the corner and leave. The school is not concerned whether they get home safely or not. It is really a changing world we live in.
